Our sign volunteers use the following criteria:

Regarding Free Signs: 
The following criteria apply to comply with municipal codes and to ensure our limited allotment of signs are spaced throughout the county to maximize outreach:
1.  4 x 8 signs are only distributed to homes on highways will not be placed within 1 mile of another sign to ensure countywide distribution.  
2.  2 x 4 signs:  Hwy and County Roads
3.  Yard Signs:  Villages, Towns, Cities (Municipalities)

Specific Rules for Sign Installation:

1.  Signs may not be placed on the boardwalk of cities, villages or towns.  Please place on your property only.

2. Signs may not be placed blocking intersection views.  This is to ensure safety of all drivers

3.  Signs must be placed behind Right of Way markers on corners and behind utility poles on other public roadways. 
3(a).  The DOT will remove and dispose of the sign and possibly fine landowners for violation of #3.
